When you have a busy family, getting everyone where they need to be is a challenge. Getting them where they need to be and fed can be an even bigger one. Then Mom is left with all the empty bags and bowls in her car!
Frank has a lot of allergies, so the list of fast food restaurants we can eat is cut short, to just one. Chick-Fil-A. I am totally okay with that considering last year I was selected to be apart of the Chick-Fil-A Moms Panel for 2016-2017. I am stoked to be apart of it too because we love that place!
When J and I have worked every day or Frank has wrestling practice, it just makes dinner and life a little easier just to swing through that drive through. On any given week, we visit Chick-Fil-A about three to five times… maybe more. Don’t judge me.
If you are like our family, you end up with quite a few of those plastic soup or grilled nugget containers. Instead of just tossing them in the trash, why not reuse them? Up cycle them and give them a new life.
Our #chickfilamomsdiy challenge for February was to find new life for the oh so delicious Chicken Tortilla Soup container. Continue reading to find out how my youngest and I turned ours into a bank for his money he works so hard to collect from his Pawpaw…
What You’ll Need:
- an empty CLEAN Chick-Fil-A soup container
- a character of your choice (we chose a juice bottle head so the container could be his body)
- hot glue gun & glue sticks
Paint both top and bottom of the container. You’ll need a few coats to cover the black. I applied three for good measure.
Next, cut a space in the Chick-Fil-A square. This will be where your money goes!
This part was extra fun! Paint the “body” of your bank.
Lastly, hot glue your characters’ head to the center of the top.
And…TA DA!!! Your bank is ready for some moolah!
